COURSE OUTCOME​ (Toronto)

Teaching Confidence & Leadership Skills: Students will build confidence in teaching and managing beginner & intermediate classes in all English skills. They will learn how to deal with classroom difficulties. 


ESL Teaching Skills: Students acquire the skill to think like a teacher and to plan and apply lessons to students of all abilities and understand the role of the teacher in an ESL classroom.

Self-Knowledge: Students will understanding how to evaluate and improve their teaching abilities and further develop their qualifications and experience. 

I took TESOL for 1 month with wonderful and nice teacher and classmates. It was amazing, because I could learn plan for teaching another students! in the class, the atmosphere that allows us to ask any small questions, which made me feel comfortable to make mistake.

 

Everyone understands things on their own pace, so teacher try to teach in different ways, using different words, so we can all understand. Also, I had great opportunity to teach students. Thank you, SGIC!

SGIC Admission Test 75%, or Completed Upper Intermediate English level 6 at SGIC, or TOEIC 625, or TOEFL iBT 55, or IELTS 5.5 + (Oral Test Required)

COURSE CONTENT 

Comprehensive Program: Students are taught a range of past teaching technique to up-to-date methodologies for all levels and all skills of English with ample opportunity to practice them in the classroom while building confidence in delivering English presentations.

CLT Model: Communicative Language Teaching is the model of the course in which students learn by interaction and apply this model to their own lesson-planning.

 

Ongoing Consultation & Feedback: Teachers consult students one-to-one after each major project and presentation making the feedback always personal and useful.

Comfortable Class Atmosphere: Creating and maintaining a pleasant class environment where students are encouraged to take risks is our main protocol.

Stimulating Curriculum: Students are never bored with a variety of workshops; academic studies are well-intergrated with in-class teaching practice; students are continuously challenged to think like ESL teachers while improving their own ESL skills.

 

TKT Preparation: Students are thoroughly prepared to sit the TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) issued by Cambridge University; TKT certificates are recognized world-wide and provide an excellent building block for further development in the TESOL field.

 

High TKT Score: Successful students of the program will improve their test-taking scores by at least 35%.

Free TKT Exam Coordination: SGIC coordinates TKT exams in TORONTO and VANCOUVER for students and following through to make sure they receive their certificates regardless of where they are in the world!
