Description
Students learn a lot of useful idioms, so they can enjoy watching American TV programs without a hassle. Moreover, because the students learn the vocabulary used in different topics of world issues, they can read newspaper articles and watch the news with more confidence. The emphasis is equally given to all four aspects: speaking, listening, writing, and reading. The course also prepares students who want to take the exam for the certification in Translation/Interpretation, approved by the Canadian government or American ILTI.

English Testing
Students write a practice Cambridge test every second week to measure their progress. This allows teachers and students to see their success and track their improvement.

Volunteer opportunity
SGIC offers an extremely rewarding and productive internship placement for EFP graduates who wish to apply their newly learned skills to real-life work.
EFP interns will be working for the Korean Senior Citizens Society of Toronto, and have numerous challenging opportunities to practice translation skills in both written and oral capacities.
Interns will accompany and assist Korean Canadians in a variety of situations, such as doctor or hospital visits, trips to the bank, and wherever a translator is needed. Students also translate for the RCMP-The Royal Canadian Mounted Police!
